As we said, this season the league part of the competition is divided into two groups of 10 teams. The two best teams from each group will directly qualify for the quarterfinals, while the remaining eight teams will meet in the round of 16.
This year, Turkish clubs are the favorites. The first favorite is Besiktas, led by the new coach of the Serbian national team, Dusan Alimpijević, while the second favorite is Bahçeşehir, led by Dejan Radonjić. Poland's Slask and Hamburg are the teams with the least chance of winning the trophy according to the odds.
Group A consists of Spain's Manresa, Hapoel Jerusalem, Greece's Aris, Cedevita Olimpija, Poland's Slask, Venezia, Lithuania's Neptunas, Bahçeşehir, Cluj-Napoca and Hamburg.
Group B consists of Germany's Ulm, Greece's Panionio, Turk Telekom, Beşiktaş, Podgorica's Buducnost, London's Lions, Lithuania's Lietkabelis, Germany's Cemniz, Italy's Trento and France's Bourg.
The season opens at 6pm in Ankara with Turk Telekom and Ulm. The hosts are the favourites, but they will have to play very carefully to secure a win in the first round. The two teams have met three times so far, with the Turkish team winning twice and the German club winning once.
Our prediction is 1 @ 1.50 MozzartBet
Slask Wroclaw hosts Lithuania's Neptunas with kick-off at 7 p.m. Although they are among the lowest-ranked teams this season, the hosts will have the wind at their back and will try to pull off a surprise against the favored Neptunas.
Our prediction is H1 – 4.5 @ 1.75 MozzartBet
Hapoel Jerusalem are visiting Hamburg and anything but a win for the Israeli team would be a surprise. The Israelis defeated Maccabi in the semi-finals of the Israeli Cup over the weekend and enter this match with a lot of confidence. These two teams met last year in the group stage of the European Cup, with Hapoel celebrating as the home team while Hamburg pulled off a surprise in Germany.
Our prediction is H2 -9.5 @ 1.75 MozzartBet
The last match tonight is the duel between Venezia and Aris. The Italians played one friendly match, more than two weeks ago and lost to Rytas, while Aris recorded two wins and one loss in three pre-season friendlies. The teams have met three times so far. Aris won in a friendly match back in 2016, while Venice recorded two wins in the league phase of the Champions Cup last year.
Our suggestion is 1 @ 1.30 MozzartBet
