The first two matches in the Premier League were played last Friday. With goals in the second half, Aston Villa defeated Tottenham 2:0, who continued their winless streak, and Chelsea beat Manchester United with a minimum score of 1:0 at home. The duel between Arsenal and Newcastle ended with the same result with a goal by Declan Rice. The last round in France brought a lot of excitement and even 38 goals in 9 months. PSG celebrated the title in front of their fans with a 3:1 victory over Auxerre, after a turnaround with two goals from Kvaračkelija. Nantes beat last-placed Montpellier 3:0, and Strasbourg conceded a goal with a penalty in the 99th minute and remained without a European connection. Lille defeated Reims at home with 2:1 and pushed them into the relegation zone, although they will play the cup final against PSG next week.
