The first two matches in the Premier League were played last Friday. With goals in the second half, Aston Villa defeated Tottenham 2:0, who continued their winless streak, and Chelsea beat Manchester United with a minimum score of 1:0 at home. The duel between Arsenal and Newcastle ended with the same result with a goal by Declan Rice. At Goodison Park, Everton beat last-placed Southampton 2:0, as did Leicester, who beat Ipswich by the same score. Nottingham Forest came away with a golden 2:1 win away to West Ham, so I stayed in the fight for a place in the Champions League. Fulham took all three points away from Brandford with 3:2, and with the same result, Brighton beat the new champion, Liverpool, on their home field. With a 3:1 victory over Bournemouth, Manchester City jumped to third place and is very close to securing a place in the Champions League. Both City and Bournemouth finished the match with 10 players each due to direct yellow cards for Kovačić and Kuk. In the last match of this round, the new winner of the FA Cup, Crystal Palace beat Wolverhampton 4:2 at home, after a reversal, and Nketi scored two goals.
The last round will bring us the schedule of the teams that will play in the Champions League next season, and as many as five teams will compete for the remaining three places.
In the last round of the Bundesliga, as many as seven victories of the visitors were seen. Bochum won 2:0 against St. Pauli, and Wolfsburg took all three points away from Borussia Mechengladbach. Mainz and Leverkusen shared the points in a 2:2 draw. Union Berlin took all three points away from Augsburg with a 2:1 victory. Eintracht Frankfurt won 3:1 in Freiburg, leaving the home team without a place in the Champions League. Werder Bremen won 4:1 away from Heidenheim with a great game. The most convincing in this round was the new champion, Bayern Munich, who defeated Hoffenheim away from home with 4:0. Borussia Dortmund secured a place in the Champions League with a 3:0 victory over Kiel in front of a packed Westfalen. In the last match of the round, Stuttgart defeated Leipzig 3:2 as a guest, although they had to chase the result twice.
Bayern won the title, the previous champion, Bayer Leverkusen finished the competition in second place. Third is Eintracht Frankfurt, while fourth is Borussia Dortmund, these teams secured direct placement in the Champions League. Freiburg secured participation in the Europa League group stage as fifth, and Mainz qualified for the Conference League as sixth. The league's top scorer is Harry Kane with 26 goals and 9 assists.
The penultimate round in Serie A was extremely interesting. Atalanta scored a goal in the 89th minute to win 3:2 away from Genoa, although they lost twice. Roma beat Milan 3:1 at the Olympic Stadium, and the guests ended the match with one less player. As a guest, Empoli beat Monza by the same score, and Lecce beat Torino at home with a minimal triumph. Juventus were safe at home and beat Udinese 2:0, while Verona and Como shared the points in a 1:1 draw. Fiorentina got all three points at home against Bologna with a score of 3:2, although they lost twice, and the visitors ended up with one less player. Cagliari won convincingly, with 3:0, against Venice at home. The most interesting duels were in Milan and Parma. Inter played at home against Lazio, I led 1:0, then 2:1, and Pedro scored a point from the penalty spot to give Lazio a point. Inter had a goal disallowed in the 99th minute, justifiably, due to offside. Napoli and Parma played a boring match, and all the excitement was seen at the end of the match, when a penalty was awarded to the Neapolitans in stoppage time, but after checking in the VAR room, it was canceled due to a foul at the beginning of the action. It is interesting that both coaches had something to say to each other, so they earned an exclusion in the referee's compensation.
The last round will bring us a new champion, and the leaders Napoli, as well as Inter and Atalanta have secured a place in the Champions League. Juventus, which has 67 points, Roma with 66 and Lazio with 65 are fighting for one more place. And the fight for survival will be very uncertain. Venezia has 29 points, and Empoli and Lecce each have 31, and neither Parma with 33 nor Verona with 34 points are 100% sure.
And in Spain this weekend saw seven wins by the guests, without a draw. Osasuna beat Espanyol 2:0, Real Sociedad Girona 3:2, and Atletico Madrid beat Betis 4:1 with two goals from Alvarez. Leganes defeated Las Palmas away from home as well as Alaves Valladolid, and both matches ended with a minimum victory of 1:0. With the goals of Mbappe and Bellingham, Real Madrid achieved a 2:0 victory in Seville, and the home team finished the match with two players less. Getafe took all three points away from Majorca with a 2:1 victory, while Athletic Bilband was better than Valencia at Mestalla by a minimal score. Rayo Vallecano beat Celta in Vigo with 2:1, while the biggest surprise came from Villarreal who beat Barcelona on their home turf after a turnaround.
Barcelona, Real Madrid, Atlético Madrid, Athletic Bilbao and Villarreal have secured participation in next season's Champions League. Betis will go to the Europa League as the sixth team in the table, and Celta Vigo, Rayo Vallecano and Osasuna will compete for another place in this competition. Valladolid and Las Palmas were relegated from the league, while Leganes and Espanyol will fight for survival.
The last round in France brought a lot of excitement and even 38 goals in 9 months. PSG celebrated the title in front of their fans with a 3:1 victory over Auxerre, after a turnaround with two goals from Kvaračkelija. Lance was convincing and beat Monaco 4:0 at home, and the guests ended the match with one less player. Nantes beat last-placed Montpellier 3:0, and Strasbourg conceded a goal with a penalty in the 99th minute and remained without a European connection. Le Havre was better with 3:2, and Strasbourg ended the match with one less player. Lille defeated Reims at home with 2:1 and pushed them into the relegation zone, although they will play the cup final against PSG next week. Toulouse beat St. Etienne with 3:2 away from home and pushed him into League 2. Nice demolished Brest 6:0 on their field with two goals from Labordo. Lyon beat Angers 2:0 at home with the goals of the club's icon, Lacazette, and Marseille, as the home team, recorded a 4:2 triumph against Rennes, with two goals each from Greenwood and Rabiot.
PSG, Marseille and Monaco will go directly to the Champions League, while Nika will qualify. Lille finished the competition with the same number of points as Nice, but had to settle for the Europa League. In the qualifications for the Conference League, Lyon, and Montpellier and St. Etienne is relegated to Ligue 2, while Rams will play in the relegation zone. The league's top scorer is Ousmane Dembele with 21 goals and 6 assists, and Mason Greenwood had the same score with one less assist.
