Kraljevi Kvota - ABA League season preview 2025-2026
The new ABA League season starts with a match between Igokea and FPM at 18:30. This year the format is changing, so we will have nine teams in two groups that will fight for the playoffs. AdmiralBet ABA League for the 2025–26 season is the 24th season of the ABA League. In addition to 16 teams from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Montenegro, Serbia, Slovenia and the United Arab Emirates, the ABA League Board of Directors has proposed a possible expansion to 20 teams, with up to four wild cards awarded to any basketball team from Europe or beyond. Some clubs from Central and Western Europe, as well as Hapoel Tel Aviv from Israel, have expressed interest in participating. On 8 July, it was announced that Romanian club U-BT Cluj-Napoca and Austrian club BK Vienna would receive wild cards, while Hapoel Tel Aviv would most likely not play in the league.
KD Ilirija from Slovenia qualified for the league for the first time.
KK Partizan is the defending champion.
Partizan, Dubai, U-BT Cluj-Napoca, Igokea, Derbi, FMP, Borac, Split and Krka will compete in Group A.
Group B consists of Buducnost, Crvena zvezda, Cedevita, Spartak, Mega, Zadar, Bosna, Ilirija and Vienna.
The four best teams from both groups will advance to the Top 8, while the remaining 10 teams will play in the play-offs.
Partizan is the first favorite to win the title this year, with Crvena zvezda and Dubai also as favorites.
